Adherence to Pediatric Medical Regimens

This work reviews the prevalence and potentially serious consequences of poor adherence to medical regimens for children and adolescents. It examines in detail the nature of adherence problems, reasons for nonadherence, strategies for assessing and improving adherence to both acute and chronic disease regimens, and published research. The author provides protocols for adherence enhancement and applies adherence theories to specific clinical cases.
