  • a ?Working Life? is Eileen Myles's first book of poetry since Evolution in 2019, which was warmly received in the New York Times Book Review, Vanity Fair, and Artforum, among others.
  • Eileen Myles is one of the most well-known and well-respected contemporary poets working today, called ?one of the essential voices in American poetry? by the New York Times. Their last book, Pathetic Literature, was an anthology that collected work showing pathos from all eras and countries, including many of Myles's friends and colleagues, both well-known and up-and-coming.
  • Myles wrote a ?Working Life? during the Covid-19 pandemic lockdowns, and its poems invoke the uncertainty and anxiety of that time, while also turning its glance outside into the natural world.
  • Myles was recently profiled in the New York Times in relation to their activist work to save East River Park in Manhattan. Both the original beauty and subsequent destruction of that park is explored in this collection, as well as the wider themes of climate change and environmental destruction.
  • Myles has been interviewed and profiled in many outlets, including the New York Times, T Magazine, Rolling Stone, and Artforum. We hope for similar media attention for this new work of original poetry.
  • Evolution, their previous book of poetry, has sold around 5,000 copies in all formats, and it was a New York Times Book Review Editors' Choice selection. Afterglow (a dog memoir) has sold a little under 10,000 in all formats. Both titles continue to backlist.
  • Myles was elected a member of the American Academy of Arts & Letters and has received a Guggenheim Fellowship.
