A Sentient Perspective

The fundamental question that needs to be asked is why is it that humanity continues to be so irrational, brutal, and violent?  That is the first, most important question.  The answer will surprise you.

A rather common belief, reinforced by conditioning handed down to us, is that we are aberrant by design.  That is a disastrous misbelief and mischief.  The disruptive elements of human existence are not a necessity.  We can live a life that is worth living as a race and as individuals: with reason.  Unreason is a legacy, not a necessity.

There is a single misconception embedded in our subconscious that undermines everything we attempt.  It needs to be recognized, acknowledged, and eliminated.  Once it is, we will have removed a major obstacle to achieving maturity as a race.

Mankind's was granted an extraordinarily heightened awareness. The ability to discern what this startlingly different sentient perspective actually provides has been absent.

Because of this, we continue to proceed in a direction that is counter to our fulfillment.  Our formidable capabilities need the counterbalance of formidable stability.  Instead, we have continued to act like an unstable animal in crucial and unfortunate ways.  We can finally, fully attain our sentience and differentiate ourselves from animals by achieving that formidable stability.  Nature has provided the means.  It has always been there.  We just needed to realize it.

The human perspective is little changed from the cowering animal that crawled out of its cave many millennia ago.  Just think on this.  Mankind's greatest fear is mankind itself.  How strange is that?

There is a saying that "Perception is reality".  It is glibly suggested, accepted and dangerously wrong.  A more accurate description is "Perceptions match reality or indulge delusion".

Sentient reality is far different from that of a beast.  So far, we have indulged in the delusions of a beast.  Our conditions, suspiciously, fall well short of our potential.

It is possible for civilization to be civilized, society to be sane, humanity to be human, and the universe to be a challenge, not a paranoid threat.  We remain a sentient race in disarray.

The perspective of a sentient race is tantalizingly within our easy grasp and purview.   The reality will surprise you.
