Niebuhr, Hollis Professor of Divinity Emeritus, The Divinity School, Harvard University Praise for the earlier edition:"Selections . . . representative of both the public and the private Edwards . . . give readers a nuanced introduction to Edwards and his time as well as an accessible entrée to the whole body of his work."—Booklist"The most comprehensive one-volume Edwards anthology ever assembled."—Gerald R. Recensioner i media

"The present volume has made accessible to a wide readership some of Edwards's most representative writings, selected from a vast corpus which only the specialist would work through. It has value for all who want to understand better how Christianity has come to be what it now is."—John Macquarrie, Church Times"This new anthology of writings by Jonathan Edwards offers a rich and judicious selection of Edwards's most important contributions to American intellectual history. It is clearly the finest collection of Edwards's works ever assembled in one volume."—Allen C. Guelzo, Harvard University
