Prof. Dr. Dr. h.c.(mult.) Michael E. Auer was Vice-Rector and Professor of Electrical Engineering at Carinthia University of Applied Sciences Villach, Austria until the end of 2020. His scientific work is focussed on technology enhanced learning and remote working environments especially in engineering. He is author or co-author of more than 250 publications, and leading member of numerous national and international organizations in the field of Online Technologies. From 2010 - 2016 he served as President of the "International Society of Engineering Education" (IGIP). Since 2016 he is the General Secretary of IGIP. Michael Auer is Founding-President and CEO of the "International Association of Online Engineering" (IAOE) since 2006, a non-governmental organization that promotes the vision of new engineering working environments worldwide. In 2015 he was elected as President of the International Federation of Engineering Education Societies (IFEES) for the term 2016-2018. Michael Auer is founder and chair of the annual international EDUCON, ICL, IMCL and STE conferences and chair or member of the Program Committees of several international conferences and workshops. Michael Auer is founder and Managing Publisher of the 'OnlineJournals.ORG' Platform, one of the first Open Access publication houses, started in 2005. In 2018 Michael Auer was appointed as President of the Institute of Data Science and Artificial Intelligence, Hong Kong (IDSAI) and since 2020 he is a President of the International Engineering and Technology Institute (IETI).After his academic carieer Michael Auer has founded his own company, 'CTI Global', which focuses on the support and promotion of educators in publishing their ideas, results, and experiences in the scientific work. This company offers special conditions for lower income countries, by support of many volunteers from all over the globe.Dr. May is a Professor of Technical Education and Engineering Education Research at the School of Mechanical Engineering and Safety Engineering at the University of Wuppertal. As part of his research activities, he explores the most effective methods of conveying technical and engineering concepts to enhance students' understanding, skills, and competencies. His work contributes to the establishment of an evidence-based foundation aimed at fostering continuous transformation and innovation in the fields of Technical and Engineering Education. Prior to joining the University of Wuppertal, Dr. May held the position of Assistant Professor for Engineering Education Research at the Engineering Education Transformations Institute at the University of Georgia (Athens, GA, USA).Dr. May serves as the President of the International Association of Online Engineering (IAOE), a non-profit organization dedicated to the global advancement, dissemination, and practical application of online engineering technologies. Dr. May is an active member of the national and international scientific community in Engineering Education Research. He has also organized several international conferences, including the annual International Conference on Smart Technologies & Education (STE).
