This book challenges many of the "truths" presented in introductory psychology textbooks. By discussing cultural similarities and differences in research findings in the United States, the book offers readers choices about a psychology that reflects their own diverse cultures and upbringings. The author reviews most of the introductory psychology topics (emotion, perception, learning and cognition and language) covered in main texts and relates specific topics to cross cultural issues. He discusses culture-specific types or characteristics of normal behaviour, and reviews and examines issues from a variety of cultures.
