This book is concerned with one of the major challenges confronting the advanced industrial democracies of Western Europe - the acceptance and integration into civil society of post-war migrant workers and political refugees and their families. It examines in detail the rights of migrant workers in West European countries, describing the expansion of these rights in the post-war period, and analyzing naturalization policies and migrant workers' attitudes to naturalization.
