Dieter Veit is reviewer of several international journals and author and co-author of several books on subjects of textile engineering. For his scientific and educational services within the scope of its activities at the RWTH Aachen, he received a number of awards.Prof. Burkhard Wulfhorst (1936-2011) was, from 1986-2001, Director of the Institute of Textile Technology and the related Department of Textile Engineering of the RWTH Aachen University. As a skilled weaver and mechanical engineer with a focus on textile technology and through his many years as in senior roles within textile engineering, he was a recognized expert in the field of textile technology. For his numerous, often pioneering work in the field of textile research, he received many awards and honors. He served as editor and principal author of the first edition.
