Adem Yavuz Elveren is a Professor of Economics at Fitchburg State University, Massachusetts, US and Izmir University of Economics, Türkiye. He earned his Ph.D., MA, and BA degrees in Economics at the University of Utah, Boston University and Ankara University, respectively. He is the author of Heterodox Economics of Military Spending (Routledge 2025), The Economics of Military Spending A Marxist Perspective (Routledge, 2019), Brain Drain and Gender Inequality in Turkey (Palgrave Pivot, 2018), and the co-editor of Gender and Society in Turkey: The Impact of Neo-Liberal Policies, Political Islam and EU Accession (IB Tauris, 2012).
