Judgment of 5 October 2016 whereby the International Court of Justice upheld the first preliminary objection to jurisdiction raised by the United Kingdom, based on the absence of a dispute between United Kingdom and the Marshall Islands, and finds that it cannot proceed to the merits of the case. Arrêt du 5 octobre 2016 par lequel la Cour internationale de Justice a retenu la première exception préliminaire d’incompétence soulevée par le Royaume-Uni fondée sur l’absence de différend entre le Royaume-Uni et les Iles Marshall, et dit qu’elle ne pouvait procéder à l’examen de l’affaire au fond.
