Ami Mālie Mulligan is currently a PhD candidate in the Department of History at the University of Hawaiʻi at Mānoa and a professional genealogist. Brian Richardson is originally from Canada. He earned doctorates in political science and philosophy from the University of Hawai‘i at Mānoa. His fields of research include eighteenth-century European exploration in the Pacific, European political philosophy, and information systems in higher education. He is the author of Longitude and Empire: How Captain Cook’s Voyages Changed the World.
