Aged only 36, Fernando Alonso has been a centre-piece of the Formula One calendar since he made his debut in 2001.

In a career spanning the Schumacher era and his own back-to-back World Championship titles in 2005 and 2006, up to his running battles with Sebastian Vettel and Lewis Hamilton, Alonso is widely seen as one of the greatest Formula One drivers of all time.
