LINDA E. MITCHELL is Professor of History at Alfred University, where she also directs the Critical Discourse Studies program and co-directs the Medieval and Renaissance Studies program. She has published a number of articles on noblewomen in medieval England and is the editor of Women in Medieval Western European Culture (1999).
