Tony Coult is a playwright and arts journalist. He has written studies of Edward Bond and Brian Friel and co-edited The Welfare State Handbook. His PhD thesis Constructive Work to Do traced the history of The Arts Council of Great Britain and its relationship to drama for young people.His plays and dramatisations have been performed by community theatre and theatre-in-education companies and broadcast by BBC Radio.
