Part Time Exiles

This monograph studies the effects and consequences of the ceaseless travels of Irish poets in search of an audience and a paycheck. Tell argues these migrations have altered the very core of Irish poetry. Poets such as Muldoon, Mahon, Heaney, Montague and Boland are discussed in depth. The nature of the Irish poetic ""voice"" and the tonality of place are also investigated.
