Students are commenting that they like the fact that it has color photos and ICD-9 codes. it's easy to use and organized intuitively. It's main competitors would be Wills Eye Manual and Mass. Eye and Ear. I think it is superior to Mass. Eye and Ear bevause that book goes over things that are rarely seen in clinic in too much detail and seems to skip over common entitities too much. Students still seem to prefer Wills, but that could be simply beause they are used to using it. One comment a student gave me was that is is helpful to students to have things organized by category rather than alphabetically. for example, if they have a patient who they think has a c ertain corneal condition, it would be helpful it all corneal conditions were grouped together so they could quickly skim and see what they might be missing.
