A writer since 1988, he has authored The New France: A Complete Guide to Contemporary French Wine, Whisky Island: A portrait of Islay and its whiskies, Andrew Jefford’s Wine Course, and Drinking with the Valkyries: Writings on Wine. He is a contributing editor and columnist for Decanter Magazine, The Financial Times, The Guardian and The World of Fine Wine. Andrew is the academic advisor to the Wine Scholar Guild, and the co-chair of the Decanter World Wine Awards, the world's largest wine competition. Throughout his distinguished career, Andrew has received eight Glenfiddich Food and Drink Awards and eight Louis Roederer Awards. After spending a year as a senior research fellow at The University of Adelaide between 2009 and 2010, Jefford moved with his family to ‘the Languedoc,’ near the Pic St-Loup wine region of Southern France.
