Secretly in love with a successful currency-trader, Leah is an intelligent and attractive dental student, and the only child of Eastern European Jewish immigrants. Unable to escape her overbearing mother, Leah defies traditional norm and falls passionately in love with Chris, an elegant and gifted African-American man with a troubled past.
