RON MATTHEWS holds the Chair in Defence Economics and is the Academic Leader of the Master of Defence Administration programme at the Department of Defence Management and Security Analysis, Cranfield University, UK. He has published numerous scholarly papers, as is the author of three books: Defence Production in India, European Arms Collaboration and Japan's Military Renaissance? - JOHN TREDDENICK is Professor of Economics at the George C. Marshall Centre in Garmisch, Germany. His current research interests are in the economics of defence, particularly in the area of defence budgeting.
