Stephen Daly is a queer writer from Belfast. Following his degree in psychosocial studies and MA in Creative Writing, he is interested in writing about the social and cultural issues young people experience. The Last Death Poet has personal resonance. Stephen grew up as a queer young man during the Troubles and left the country at eighteen to try and be himself. He believes it’s time to tell more queer Irish stories.
'A refreshing new voice in YA, Stephen Daly daringly mixes northern Irish history, a tender coming out story, and dark magic to produce something big-hearted, clear-eyed and deeply touching. You’ll fall in love with The Last Death Poet.' Patrick Ness
