Since 1998 interest in information literacy has grown rapidly within the information professional community and within other professions, functions and disciplines like the education sector. Discussion within the information profession about its desirability, scope and under-development has been sustained and the interest in the topic is global. But the term "information literacy" is still not fully understood: what does it mean? How does it affect our lives and who is working to put the theory behind the concept into practice right now?
