'I Don't Recall'

- Foreword By Dr. Sherri Tenpenny -What happens when a government can no longer prove whatit did, what its officials knew-or who was responsible? For more thantwenty-seven years, federal records expert and whistleblower Don Lueders workedwith the White House, Pentagon, Department of Justice, intelligenceorganisations and dozens of US government agencies. His job was to help protectthe electronic records documenting government actions. But Lueders becameconvinced the system was failing. Despite billions spent on technology, software and compliance, Lueders says he never witnessed a single electronic federal record successfully managed through its complete legally required lifecycle. When he began raising concerns, he encountered institutionalresistance. He approached senior officials, filed complaints with governmentwatchdogs, contacted journalists and members of Congress, and ultimately riskedhis career in his efforts to expose the problem. The consequences, he argues, extend far beyond technologicalfailure. When Dr Anthony Fauci appeared before congressionalinvestigators examining the government's response to COVID-19, he repeatedlyanswered questions with the words: "I don't recall."But why should government accountability depend upon anofficial's memory when the records themselves should provide the answers?I Don't Recall explores the potentially devastatingimplications for congressional investigations, public transparency, the justicesystem and the American people's ability to hold their government accountable.IDon't Recall: A Government Without Memory reveals his battle to expose asystem he believes has failed-and asks: without reliable records, how can thepublic uncover the truth and hold government to account?
