Andrea Florens is a graduate from the University of Natal and worked for many years as a copywriter in one of Durban's top advertising agencies. The series was born when Andrea saw a gap in the market for African fables which would appeal to a young audience, from the age of two to nine years old. Having written a number of non-fiction books for Art Publishers, Andrea approached them with the idea of the series.
