RICHARD GRANT is an Associate Professor in the Department of Geography and Regional Studies at the University of Miami, Florida. His research interests include economic globalization, cities in the less-developed world and global trade policy. - JOHN RENNIE SHORT is Professor of Geography at Maxwell School, Syracuse University.
