Harriet Whitehorn grew up in London where she still lives with her husband and three daughters. She studied at Reading University and the Architectural Association and has always worked in building conservation. She currently works for English Heritage. Harriet's first novel, Violet and the Pearl of the Orient, was published by Simon and Schuster and shortlisted for the Waterstone's Children's Books Prize 2015. Alex G Griffiths is an illustrator specialising in children's picture books and character design. The majority of his work isdone by hand, using a combination of pen and ink line work and brush textures in a messy way to create a natural style of illustration. Alex's debut picture book, The Bug Collector, was published in 2019 by Andersen Press.
