Jan-Eric has been a yachtsman all his life. The last two years he has together with his wife Jennifer been living aboard their sailing yacht Adele (180 foot ketch; 1,550 m2 sail area). During those years they sailed extensively visiting Lofoten in north Norway, Svalbard (Spetsbergen), South Europe, the Caribbean, Panama, Galapagos, the South Pacific from French Polynesia to Vanuatu, New Zealand and then turned back around Cape Horn and down to Antarctica, the Falklands and South Georgia before returning to the Caribbean via Brazil. The distances covered corresponds roughly to one Atlantic crossing each month.Jan-Eric took together with the designer Andre Hoek and project manager Nigel Ingram a very active part in planning Adele for extensive cruising and exploring in far away places, while at the same time assuring that she became both fast and beautiful. Before commissioning Adele, he was during more than 15 years the owner of Swedish Caprice, an eighty foot sloop with which he sailed around the world for 3 months a year. Swedish Caprice has been sailing in Alaska and Canada and extensively in the Far East, the South Pacific and the Indian Ocean as well as more familiar cruising grounds like the Med, the Caribbean and New Englands coast. Before that he sailed smaller sailing yachts in the Scandinavian waters. At the beginning of the summer this year he sold Adele and is now living with Jennifer at their home in Devon, southwest England. He has four grown up children living in London and LA. Jan-Eric's business interests comprises investments in mainly medical technology and biotechnology companies in an early stage.Jan-Eric is also a keen photographer and writer and the voyages with Adele have been well documented by Jan-Eric and by photographer Rick Tomlinson and published in several yachting magazines. Jan-Eric is now finalising a book "Exploring with Adele", which will be published in January 2008.
