Anna Pineda is a Ramón y Cajal Senior Fellow at the University of Barcelona, specializing in Catalan and Romance linguistics with a focus on syntactic variation. She holds a degree in Catalan Philology, a Master's in Advanced Studies in Catalan Language and Literature, and a PhD in Cognitive Science and Language, with a doctoral dissertation that examined syntactic variation in Romance languages and Basque. She has received several research and academic awards and has previously held positions at Universitat Autònoma de Barcelona, CNRS, the University of Cambridge, Universitat Pompeu Fabra, Sorbonne Université, and Universität zu Köln.
