His publications include, as author, Positivism in Social Theory and Research (1985) and as co-editor with David Jary, Anthony Giddens: Critical Reassessments and Giddens' Theory of Structuration. - DAVID JARY is Research Professor at Staffordshire University and Visiting Professor at Birmingham University where he is co-ordinator for sociology.
