Contemporary Art on the Northwest Coast

Artists affiliated with southern tribes of the Northwest Coast of America are pushing the boundaries of previously accepted concepts of native art. The work of contemporary Salish, Nuu-Chah-Nulth, and Makah artists are created in huge public installations of wood, cement, and metal.
