The edited volume investigates the 'issues and challenges' of the ASEAN Community initiatives. This initiative is a regional integration project that began in 2015 and involves all ten ASEAN nations. Through this project, ASEAN leaders envision a region that is peaceful, stable, and resilient within a global community of nations. This volume contains a collection of eight papers written by Malaysian and Indonesian scholars working on various aspects of the ASEAN Community initiatives. The various chapters argue that, despite the novelty of these initiatives, there are many challenges facing the implementation of this regional integration project.
