Britain 1906–1951 (1963) looks at British history and economics from the first half of the twentieth century. It examines the changing political and economic situation before and after the First World War, the impacts of the Great Depression and Britain’s rearmament programme, the Second World War, Britain’s establishment and expansion of the Welfare State, and the retreat from Empire.
