Benjamin T. Wilder is a biogeographer, botanist, and desert ecologist whose research looks at the origin and future of the Sonoran Desert.Bill Broyles has written about famous desert rats, historic trails, border patrol pilots, ranching, and cowboys and cowgirls, and he continues to research and write about people and public lands in southwestern Arizona and northwestern Sonora.Thomas Bowen is professor emeritus in the Department of Anthropology, California State University, Fresno, and a research associate at the Southwest Center, University of Arizona. His research has focused on the Gulf of California islands.Richard S. Felger (1934–2020) studied natural history in arid regions worldwide and was the founder and executive director of the Drylands Institute in Tucson, Arizona.
