Born in Yerevan, Armenia, in 1989, Zaven Andriasian is a Grandmaster and former World Junior Champion (2006). A product of Armenia’s rich chess tradition, he has won numerous international events, including the 2010 Russian Cup Final and the 2016 Armenian Championship.With a peak rating of 2645, Andriasian is known for his sharp, uncompromising style and deep opening preparation. Beyond the board, he is a respected chess author, with acclaimed works such as Winning with the Najdorf Sicilian and The English Attack against the Taimanov Sicilian.Andriasian continues to contribute to the global chess community as a competitor, writer, and representative of Armenian chess excellence.
