World AIDS Day Report

This report sets benchmarks and provides forward-looking analysis of the 2015 targets set by the United Nations General Assembly in its 2011 Political Declaration on HIV/AIDS. This publication asks, “how will we get there?” and presents key data and illustrative figures covering the decade 2006 to 2015. An incisive narrative examines the new global targets in the Political Declaration and in the UNAIDS strategy on AIDS, and it reviews options and implications to stop the AIDS epidemic. Numerical targets are charted and their implications reviewed for each region.
