We sold drugs and stole cars just to joyride around the hood and pull up on girls we knew, but most of the time we would strip the cars we stole to sell the parts for pennies on a dollar. By 9th grade I had become completely corrupted and had no interest in attending classes after I had gotten so far behind from skipping class. I did however love going to school just to see the girls. When most were going to school in the morning I was going to the stroll to sell heroin. Scanning the area for police and dope fiends became second nature. We took turns on who was gonna be the lookout and who was gonna get the top money off of each pack of dope we sold. I had seen a very lot of money being raked in off the streets and I had made a decision that being a drug dealer long-term would work as long as I was careful. That didn't work out at all! On my first day of attending Central High School off of Linwood and Tuxedo on Detroit's Westside I decided that I was gonna be a full fledge Dexter Boy, which meant if another Dexter Boy or NFL (Niggaz From Linwood) had an issue with anybody, that issue had just became my issue as well. Back then we were having issues with different cats from different hoods, not to mention the issues we had with the opposing team to YBI aka Young Boys Incorporated. That opposing team was called the Pony Down Crew! This new lifestyle that I had chosen led me to drinking and drugging daily. I eventually started lacing my marijuana with cocaine to merely fit in. I have to admit that I was also curious about cocaine because of the stories I had heard about some of the real money getters going to concerts lacing their weed with cocaine. This was the drug for those that were getting major money from what I was told. I had made a very bad decision to join in on something that I know has changed the trajectory of where my life would've ended up, but I guess we'll never truly know how my life would've turned out if I would've went in the another direction. Regardless of how my life has turned out, I believe that everything is in divine order. God's plan was laid out. I believe that everything I went through throughout my life was not necessarily for me but for someone that needs to hear my story and how God restored me to sanity. Unfortunately I was the one who decided to travel on that road to nowhere, I was the one who decided to travel on a road to complete self-destruction if I wasn't stopped. If it hadn't been for the Lord by my side and His Mercy and Grace I would not have made it thus far. There was a time when things began to turn bad for me and I began to blame those that offered me my 1st round of marijuana laced with cocaine. Today I understand that they were just as sick as I was, and although I may have not been responsible for my addiction, I am however responsible for my recovery. It took me many years afterwards to understand this concept.
