As a brief reference book for the subject it serves its purpose well, providing all the information needed to make decisions in designing or maintaining simple vacuum systems...for students the book is very good as a study aid...This is a book which completely achieves its stated goal of providing a rapid summary of a field of study which nearly all researchers use. For scientists whose interest in vacuum physics is casual this would make a useful reference book
