During the first decade of the 2000s, Tunisia was regarded as a stable country with a successful economy. However, beneath the veneer, dissent fermented. This evaluation covers the last years of the Ben Ali regime and aims to inform the preparation of a new World Bank Group strategy for Tunisia.
