A. P. S. Selvadurai is William Scott Professor and James McGill Professor in the Department of Civil Engineering and Applied Mechanics at McGill University, Montréal. He is the recipient of the Max Planck Research Prize and the Humboldt Award and in 2013 received the Maurice A. Biot Medal from the American Society of Civil Engineers (ASCE) and the Eric Reissner Medal from the International Conference on Computational and Experimental Engineering and Sciences (ICCES). He has published extensively in archival journals devoted to mechanics and applied mathematics, geomechanics, and computational and experimental mechanics. He is the author of seven books including Elasticity and Geomechanics (with R. O. Davis, Cambridge, 1996) and Plasticity and Geomechanics (with R.O. Davis, Cambridge, 2002). A. P. Suvorov is a Research Associate in the Environmental Geomechanics group at the Department of Civil Engineering and Applied Mechanics, McGill University, Montréal. He has worked in the field of geomechanics and poromechanics since 2008. His main interests are mathematical modelling of multi-physics processes, continuum mechanics, mechanics of solids and computational geomechanics. His journal publications are mainly devoted to the mechanics of composite materials and thermo-poromechanics.
