The Oath

Can the 1066 invasion of England by William, Duke of Normandy and the ensuing Battle of Hastings be avoided? Even though King Harold II of England had previously pledged by solemn oath on Holy Relics an oath of fealty to Duke William, must he support William's claim to the throne of England. Has the dying declaration of King Edward that he be succeeded by Earl Harold Godwinson no validity? When Duke William seeks resolution of his claim that he is the rightful king of England and Harold a forsworn usurper before the High Court of the Association of International Communities, will his claims be supported by law? King Harold, the former Earl of Wessex and right hand man of the dying King Edward must resolve his moral and legal obligations to himself and to his country as well as prevail in a court of law.
