Vivian Cook is Emeritus Professor of Applied Linguistics at Newcastle University and visiting professor at the University of York. He has previously taught applied linguistics at Essex University and EFL and linguistics in London. Li Wei is Chair of Applied Linguistics and Director of the UCL Centre for Applied Linguistics, at the UCL Institute of Education, University College London.
