Vimala Veeraraghavan completed her MA in psychology (gold medalist) from University of Delhi and has headed the Department of Psychology in the same university and has headed the psychology department at Amity University, Noida, and at Indira Gandhi National Open University (IGNOU) as emeritus professor. She has also established forensic science and forensic psychology departments at Amity University and has been a regular resource person to Defence Institute of Psychological Research (DIPR) and National Institute of Criminology and Forensic Science (NICFS). She has earlier worked in the Jawaharlal Nehru University as an associate professor and Indian Council of Medical Research as a research officer, and has worked on drug abuse among college students in India.She has supervised more than 30 doctoral students and several MPhil students and has been a visiting professor at Thammasat University, Bangkok. She has been the recipient of many awards, including Indian Council of Social Science Research (ICSSR) Teacher Fellowship award and Indian Council of Philosophical Research (ICPR) National Fellowship award. She has been honoured for her lifelong contribution to psychology with Asiatic Society award for 2012.She has undertaken research in several areas sponsored by University Grants Commission (UGC), Bureau of Police Research and Development, Ministry of Home Affairs, ICSSR, Government of India, New Delhi. She has contributed extensively through her articles in scientific journals and chapters in publications on social work, drug abuse, education and psychology. She has authored 17 books, the most recent being A Textbook of Abnormal and Clinical Psychology, published in 2014. Dr Suhas Shetgovekar is presently an Associate Professor with Discipline of Psychology, IGNOU, New Delhi. She joined IGNOU as a Reader in December 2010. She is a Programme Coordinator for PhD programme in psychology and PhD programme in disability studies at IGNOU. She has earlier served as a Course Director at the Abbé Faria Post Graduate Department of Psychology, St. Xavier’s College, Mapusa, Goa, and has been visiting faculty/resource person for institutions like Goa Institute of Management, National Institute of Construction Management and Research, Goa and Central Board for Worker’s Education, Goa, and V. V Giri National Labour Institute, Noida. She completed her MA in psychology (gold medallist) and PhD from Karnatak University, Dharwad, Karnataka. She has been actively involved in teaching psychology, management and related subjects in varied institutions. She has conducted numerous training programmes on behavioural skills in various industries and organisations in Goa. She has presented and published papers on topics pertaining to health modernity, women-related issues, couple relationship, ethics in psychological research, culture and industrial and organisational psychology. She has co-authored Textbook of Parametric and Nonparametric Statistics with Professor Vimala Veeraraghavan (by Sage in 2016).
