Talent Management

This piece of academic research provides an insight into the understanding of Talent Management (TM) through detailing the perspectives from which it can be viewed. Despite the lack of theoretical underpinning and a core set of principles, the literature states that effective TM is especially significant in ensuring the continued success of Multinational Corporations. Such firms are faced with the challenge of operating across multiple borders in an environment typified by ever-increasing global competition. The literature identifies activities which characterise organisations that operate TM; investing selectively in high performers but more crucially high potentials, conducting talent pool segmentation and linking talent to corporate strategy.
