Something Hidden

Louisa E. Rhine--whose name is destined in the annals of science to be forever linked with that of her husband, J.B. Rhine--completed this book, her last, at age 91 in March 1983 and titled it Something Hidden after a favorite poem of J.B.R.'s. This brilliant and inspiring researcher is now known to have played a major role in the advance of scientific psychical research that made "Rhine" a household word and Duke a yet more famous university, from the 1930s on. This final book, showing again her intellect and graceful writing, is probably her most important. The openness, humanity and keen-mindedness with which she approached her task are as significant as the task itself: an exposition of the inner life of the mind for both J.B. Rhine and herself throughout their days on earth.
