Similarly, later works like Astadhyayi, Ramayana, Mahabharata, Arthasastra, Raghuvamsa, Harsacarita, etc. also refer to the popularity of wine among all sections of the society. Dharmasastras, however, occasionally speak against the use of wine by the Brahmanas.
