Natalie J. Carroll is a Purdue University professor with extensive experience in curriculum development. She and her creative writing teams have composed thirty-two natural resource, activity-based curricula for youth and twenty-three grant-funded projects. She and her coauthors have received ten national awards for their work. She has also published numerous journal articles and educational works for youth and adults, and has presented her work to hundreds of conferences in Indiana and around the world. Carroll received the Christian J. Foster Award for Contributions to K–12 STEM Education from Purdue in 2016.Donald J. Haberlin served as a vocational agriculture teacher and FFA adviser for more than thirty-five years at Western Boone High School in Thorntown, Indiana. There, he taught soils and natural resources to students in grades 7–12, and coached state and national 4-H/FFA Soils Evaluation and Envirothon teams. After retirement, he became an adjunct faculty member and farm operator at Ivy Tech Community College, teaching soil science and leading groups participating in the North American Colleges and Teachers of Agriculture Soils Evaluation competition. Haberlin has also worked with Purdue University in various capacities and is the author of numerous lessons in the Gearing Up for Safety program.
