Sociology of the Body

Sociology of the Body is an introductory text-reader that provides second- to fourth-year university students with a broad overview both of the theories of the body as well as substantive body issues, from a sociological perspective. The text approaches a sociological understanding of the body through both the work of classical theorists and the most recent stream of sociological theorizing on bodies.
