Elsa Baroghel is a writer, teacher, and researcher specialising in modern French and British literature, particularly the works of Samuel Beckett, on which she has published several papers and chapters. Her interests include the avant-garde, self-translation, madness and alienation in literature. She held a permanent position at Hertford College and St Peter's College as Lecturer in French language from 2019 to 2023, and was a Stipendiary Lecturer in French at St Hilda's College from 2016 to 2023. Her DPhil (University of Oxford, 2019) focused on Samuel Beckett's reception of the Marquis de Sade. She now lives in Toulouse, France.
