This handbook studies social welfare in the global south. It looks at social problems from a political, economic, and geographical lens across the global south and analyses the states' responses to these problems through various welfare policies and programs. The book goes beyond mere understanding of social welfare and explores the factors influencing welfare provisions, and the formulation and delivery of welfare policies. It also discusses programs for the welfare of diverse communities in the countries located in the global south. The volume will be an effective instrument in informing policy decisions related to social welfare. It will be essential for educators, researchers, and practitioners within social work institutions and professionals in social work, social welfare, social policy, and social security studies.
