Rose in Contemporary Italian Poetry

This study surveys the use of the rose topos in 20th-century Italian poetry, providing a cross-section of the work of major poets, and the movements in which it appears. The author examines the topos, the individual instances of its appearance, and cultural and linguistic contexts.
