Ring-Opening Polymerization

This volume serves both as an introduction to the field of ring-opening polymerization chemistry, as well as a recent review of many areas of research. The book was organized with three goals in mind: to achieve a comprehensive review of recent mechanistic and catalytic work which is important for understanding ring-opening polymerizations to update the progress in several areas of research in synthesis and catalysis which are important both academically and industrially, and To include very recent developments. The book is divided into four sections. The first reviews work on mechanistic aspects of cationic and anionic ring-opening polymerization. The second section deals with several areas of catalysis. The third section on polymeric systems highlights specific areas in synthetic chemistry which have had significant recent advances, and the final section contains two chapters in new areas not yet reviewed elsewhere.
